Our Story

Our firm dates back to the late nineteenth century when Raymond Trotter established a Solicitors Practice in Epping.

 

Thomas Chapman joined in the 1920s, and Herbert Whisker in the 1940s. Trotter Chapman & Whisker practised under that name for the next five decades.

By the 1990s the firm was known as Whiskers and in May 2008 the partnership of Whiskers Solicitors was incorporated under the style Whiskers LLP.

The firm is very proud of its long history and continual commitment to the highest possible service to its clients.

​

Today Whiskers LLP practises from offices in Epping, Harlow and Bishops Stortford.

Our Ethos

Our firm makes use of the very latest AI enhanced high performance practice management and financial accounting software, hosted in the Cloud. 

 

Client care and client service is a priority, and all clients are allocated a dedicated fee earner and case supervisor and while we are happy to communicate and undertake work in a “virtual” environment, we are also very happy to meet all clients face to face.

Our services are directed towards the legal needs of private clients and also businesses, and in particular owner managed and SME businesses, including startups.

​

Our clients include private individuals and businesses but also a number of sports clubs and associations, charitable bodies and hospices, local and nationwide.

​

As employers we are committed to diversity, equality and inclusion and we are pleased to say that we have amongst us employees who are fluent in German, Serbo-Croation, Farsi, Urdu, Hindu, Bengali and Afrikaans.

Community Support

The Partners and staff of Whiskers have a long history of providing support and sponsorship for charities and other organisations in the local community. We engage in a variety of fundraising activities for local charities and also direct sponsorship of various clubs and organisations.
